I have two carees in progress and no separate installation.
One is in port and other at sea. Is it wise to change mods via JSMG? |

In port yes, at sea no. So overall no, wait until second career is in port before changing mods.

What mods are you wanting to change? As Herr-Berbunch said, it's best to change mods in port. Graphic and sound mods usually don't hurt anything, but why would you want to change those while at sea anyway?

Ah. In that case you want to make the change while in port.

Hi,
I guess it would work, HOWEVER, only if you can make sure that if you load a save game from the patrol at sea, you change back to the same campaign files from which the save game was created. Let's say your '42 campaign is at sea, '39 at port. You now want to start a patrol in '39. So, activate a new campaign rnd file for '39. BUT DO NOT LOAD THE '42 CAMPAIGN with this file, ONLY the '39 campaign. When you later want to play the '42 campaign again, activate the old campaign rnd file (the one that was active when you saved the '42 campaign) and play. It should work because your SH3 installation should be in exactly the same 'state' again as it was when you saved the game. As you can see it means quite some book-keeping in order to know which campaign files must be used with which career. So I don't recommend the procedure. It's better to limit yourself to instances when all commanders are in port. Cheers, LGN1 BTW, it would be great if you could post some feed-back about the mod in this thread, e.g., zigzag distances, randomness of zz pattern...: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=172566 |
