I go about my business around the house. I will also read a book or browse the SubSim forums or grade papers. When home, I usually have a submarine simulation running.

I go through a protocol that involves cruising along on the surface (with a little TC) and then diving every couple of hours to take sonar readings for a few minutes. Then it's up to periscope depth, a quick check for aircraft or enemy ships, and then surface and cruise. It keeps me occupied and, every now and again, we come across a juicy target.
![]() While cruising in safe waters, such as the Kiel Canal, I switch on the radio, or phonograph, and listen to some vintage music and news broadcasts. Nice. ![]()

[Cmd561] Name=Toggle_Activate_UserRadio Contexts=1 Key0=0x58,s,"X" [Cmd562] Name=Toggle_Activate_Gramophone Contexts=1 Key0=0x58,,"X" Then I got use of the radio and gramophone with the X and Shift+X key, but now I use the new UI mod that has them added to the hud. I prefer the key commands but the UI mod took that away. Don't know how to get it back. Last edited by Harmsway!; 01-06-11 at 05:08 PM. |

For the radio, I use another mod, the name of which I cannot remember exactly (I'm at work right now). It's something like Grosserdeutscherrundfunk or something like that. It is a large collection of vintage radio and news broadcasts in German and it assigns a keyboard key to bring up the radio controls. If you're interested, I can get the exact information and send it to you. Happy hunting and listening! ![]()

I usually have a bunch of books that I switch off reading. I used to do homework when I was taking classes to pass the time. Worst came to worst, I would use my laptop to surf the internet and post on here

The official name of the mod with the huge collection of vintage German news broadcasts and music is Grossdeutscher Rundfunk.
Happy hunting! ![]()

I usually listen to music on the gramophone. I filled up my gramophone folder with a collection of WW2 era music and classics. I use a randomizing program to scramble the order of songs before I start SH5. I must say though, I don't like waiting a long time before finding some action so I use time compression. The only time I don't mind waiting a long time is when I am setting up my ambush and preparing to fire.
