Convoy Help.

How are you able to get inside a convoy when the columns are 0.5-1 km away?Even if you are around 800m from the 2nd column that means the first column is just 200 m behind you and they can easily see your telescope...
I always come as close to the 1st column,let the escort pass and then move a little bit closer as close as 800-1000 m so i can target both first and second column (the second one has usually better targets than the first).I never bother attack 3rd column. Its too far and there are quite a few obstacles in front (1st and 2nd column ships that is).
