Nope. no OM. only SH4 V1.5

Hi - quick question - has anyone managed to make AI subs dive deeper than about 30m ? The AI sub code I am playing aorund with for TSWSM came from Darkfish and the depth the subs appears it as set by it's surfaced draft setting in unitname.sim file... trouble is, once you set it higher than about 35 m draft, the sub doesn't appear to want to go any deeper.

Also - anyone managed to get AI subs to dive / surface on their own ?

I haven't been able to make a sub dive/surface. It's a unit_Ship commander, so it doesn't change height. I've been experimenting with the airplane cmdr, but no luck yet.

So far my solution is: clone the AI sub, and give each clone a different depth. Like: AI_Oscar25, AI_Oscar70, AI_Oscar135. I keep the submerged draught at 1500, and set the surfaced draught to the desired depth.

In the mission editor, it's possible to make a random group, so a random sub clone will be selected - a different depth each time you play the mission.

By the way, i've noticed that when you dive to 200m or below, your sub tends to keep sinking...

Thanks for the files

I just tested with the oscar and a part of the sub is inside the dock not completely in the water.

also i start in wilhelmshaven and i need to take some pictures in freemantle?

This will take sometime before i get there and when i do i don't think i would be able to take these pictures because of the shallow water.


Tested it again with the delta IV and no problems there


Edit: When i select januari 1940 i have a ctd

thats because the current version of the mod,yamato used, has a campaign layout based on OM. a new campaing system with soviet bases will be part of the next mod version with the oscar ,delta IV etc. campaign playable. at the moment, i am rebuilding the juliett,the charlie will follow.thatl take some time,especially since i have decided to make the juliet more detailed than my usual subs( the conning has 15.000 triangels by now already and is not finished yet), use new extensibles and a new interior, so it will take some time.i have the main naval bases for the north, baltic and pacific fleet up and running already. to fix your problem, you need do compare both the campaign.upc and flottilla.ups, there may be some error with the submarine deployment,the unit time interval or the unit directory for the specific fleet.

I have just taken a look into yamatos files and strongly suggest to edit the original careerstart.upc and flottila.upc files for the german side.i guess it is easier to just to add the boats there since those are only small lists. ps and remove that conning model from the oscar`s hull,guess i forgot about that some time ago...

Okay Jhapprich, wheres the conning model,
ill get to it as soon as i get an answer, its just easier on me if ya tell me

to everyone else: if you go at ahead 1/3 with the Oscar II, it just slides right out of the dock.

i know this isnt what you want but its the best advice i can give since i still have to figure out the coordinate system

node cfg#Z01 when you open submarine/NSS_949A.dat

coordinate system : open the mapeditor and move the cursor to the desired position(hope,this doesn`t mean anything besides the way i mean it?),the map coordinates are in the left down bar of the window.

Zel - thanks ... am pretty much doing the same thing (multiple clones, different depths) .... but have not been able to make any subs which go real deep by setting surface draft .... once I get to about 40 meters ... the sub won't go any deeper... I've set one to 120m .. but it physically won' go any lower... can you confirm the deepest you've made an AI sub go (roughly) ? I just wonder what I am doing wrong.

Hey guys. I downloaded the Vic III/Delta IV/Oscar II campaign playable. The Oscar II is the only one that works. Either of the others and the game crashes. I don't know if the has any correlation , but the Oscar II is the only one that I've downloaded. Is there any way I can make the Delta work? is there a link to the Delta? I'm not as interested in the Victor, but the Delta looks awesome. The Oscar is beautiful too, btw. Thanks for the help and for this awesome mod!!

Most downloads are taken offline you need the delta IV mod in order to make it work.

There will be a new release soon which should include the latest subs (oscar, delta IV) and it's campaign files.


When? That's up to jhapprich :p

the delta IV and the victor III are not included in yamato`s mod.thats the reason for the crash.they´re in the roster,but the files are missing.conning of the juliett is done.hull will be next,but much easier.started to rebuild the charlie yesterday.i think,ill include a charlie II.see you soon
