In a few of the questions, you used the term "government" without defining whether you mean Local, state, federal, all, or something different.
In the US, as we are a country of states, there are some powers we like the individual states to have and others we may want the federal government to have. "The government" is a complicated term to use in the United States.

That's assuming he means one of the US governments. He could be referring to any government at any level in any part of the world. Also the term "we" is loosely bandied about in these question. Who is we? Subsim members?, Madagascans?, All of humanity? Be more specific and your questions may be better understood and provide you with useful data. Proper survey contstruction makes a big difference to the value of the research. Then again not declaring what purpose the data and its analysis will be put to makes me suspicious of the motives for collection. |

It is up to Guam and Puerto Rico to decide whether they wish to be part of the US. It is not my decision as a John Q. Public voter -- the islands should declare their intentions to be recognized as states and therefore be allowed in. I'd never thought of Iraq or Afghanistan as US states. Interesting questions. Why should we consider them to be US states? Do they wish to be part of the States? They should incorporate on their own if they so choose, per Guam, Puerto Rico and so on. In regards to your final question, I must ask you my own: Would the world be better off with the US' system of government? If so, what makes our system superior to any other current political system in the world? These are loaded questions, but fair is fair. Nothing is permanent in this world. ![]() |
