Of course, if people truly wanted to support the game, they would buy it (as many did), no questions asked, at the full original price of $50.
And if they offered a DRM-free version tomorrow for $50 I'd pay it without a second thought, even though my current computer won't even run it, and being the completist that I am I would probably still play the older ones the most.

Actually I charge for any DRM infested piece of refuse that I consent to take home, plus a destruction fee, a detoxification fee and charges to replace any clothing contaminated during the destruction and detoxification processes, plus interest and penalties.

I figure if they pay me about $50 I'll take it. But I still wouldn't play it with the DRM.

The constant internet connection has been dropped . You only need to be connected to log in . You dont need to worry about losing connection while playing anymore .

Nah, still haven't bought it... still won't buy it.

Though I'd be happy to put up a $30 bid for a platinum edition sans DRM.

Egosoft finally released a nice Gold Edition of X3 so I can finally play that space sim.
The box actually said "DRM Free" on it, just so I'd buy it.

As I keep saying, for me it was never about how well it worked. It's wrong to restrict a player from playing an offline game whenever he wants, period. That hasn't changed at all.

I agree with you 100% steve , at least its better than constant online connection . They have to drop the online thing one day surely .

As usual I find myself agreeing with Steve.

It's now available on Amazon for £6.79!!!

What's worrying is that anyone at UbiSoft could have come up with this crackpot idea (DRM) in the first place.

What's even more worrying is that anybody could have defended it it any way.

What's even more worrying is that anybody could still be defending it.

DRM=no buy as far as I am concerned. At any price.

Regards,

Dredd
