Damn, a terrible shame, a brilliant comic, will always remember him in Airplane and The Naked Gun films.

Now I'm going to have the theme tune to Police Squad in my head for the rest of the day.

Shows how well loved he was that three threads have appeared with the same news in so short a time.

All of you young'uns don't remember that long before Mel Gibson made The Patriot, Leslie Nielsen starred in a TV show called The Swamp Fox, which essentially told the same story.

I was looking at his listing at the IMDB after I read the news ,he had a Huge list of movies and tv shows from 1950 to this year but I'd forgotten his most important role http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0049223/
