Time Zones

Happy Thanksgiving guys!

I have an embarrasing question to ask because I seem to be brain dead at the moment. I'm off the coast of Japan (about 40nm SSE of the entrance of Tokyo Bay). My game clock and calander say May 14, 1943 10:00 AM. I know the clock is giving me my base time, which is Midway Isl. What time is it off the coast of Japan, and what day. The reason I ask is because a convoy was supposed to be in this location midday on the 15th. Thanks, and excuse my stupidity. Enjoy your holiday!

Tokyo is five time zones west of Honolulu, and across the International Date Line, so if it's 10:00 on the 14th at Pearl Harbor it's 05:00 on the 15th in Tokyo. I believe the extended section of the time zone around Hawaii includes Midway, so officially Midway time is the same as Pearl.

It's funny - in SH3 the time was always GMT, not base time. Holding the cursor over the time would give you the local time and date. In SH4 this is broken.

Damn that's what was missing. Has any modder been able to fix this?

Probably not, or I'd be making a big deal out of the fix.

Just a small update: Contact made! Right on time. Overcast skies, moderate rain. Warship and Merchant propeller noises heard. Radar shows range about 12,000 and closeing.
