Hondo's Valor at Sea website has a nice (but small) graphic showing the US Flag mounted high on the aft AA deck in his header which looks similar to real B&W photo's I have seen. On his website banner the graphic is slightly larger:

I would like to see a mod that positions the Flag there instead but am perfectly happy without the Flag because I don't think they ran up the colors except upon returning to base, etc. I don't think they would be displayed while on patrol, nor were the large hull numbers.

Happy Hunting!

Indeed no hull numbers, but Fluckey used to hoise the flag (in periscope iirc) when approaching fishingboats.
Would like very much to simulate that, hence the request for a command key to raise the old rag...

Yes, Eugene Fluckey is an exception and probably my favorite submarine commander. I can visualize him ordering the colors raised so the fishing junks on picket duty would know who is coming - and their likely fate! I would like that key command very much as well now that you reminded me of that.

I try every rare opportunity I can to use his method of night surface attack on a convoy. It is not so easy in SH4 as in the old SHCE where the escorts were at the four corners with maybe one leading and one trailing.

Happy Hunting! - (and hopefully we'll see that mod )
