This man knows how to live!

I would not recommend the 2 pair of socks strategy, your feet will feel more comfy at first, but on the long run it's no good, as your feet don't have enough foothold. The most important thing is having good shoes. My friends who work construction, work mostly in training shoes, they made some great advantages in the last decades. As I assume that you have to wear safety shoes/boots, I can only recommend the classic good old Doc Marten boots - they really have the best soles! The guys I know, who are only allowed to wear safety boots provided by their company, they all curse their employers and wish a pair of Docs!

They were originally purchased as a fashion statement back when I was in high school. Now I use them for almost any physical work I have to do; from chopping wood to helping my friend knock down a few walls to shoveling snow. It is a testament to their durability.

Using a computer for 7 days does not make one week...

I'll be here all week

My Docs are getting on for 6 years old, still in great nick.

I get over the lethargy of spending my day at a screen by cycling in and out. Mental exercise helps as well

Ah Doc Martens I use to wear them I would buy the red docs. Hard to get them here now as to many imitations come out claiming to be doc martens until you wear them for a month and the soles fall apart. Doc soles are sewn on these were glued So a couple of times getting them wet and they fall apart. Made in China rubbish.

On another note my index finger is twice the size and I cannot make a close fist atm me hands are to swollen Oh well part of the job. Im getting tougher Thank God its saturday I need to rest the body.
