Is it true that when the sonar guy reports a contact, that contact can be no farther away than 16 km?

With GWX3.0 you should here a convoy 30 km away but there is no guarantee your hydrophone operator will announce said contact (dependant on experience).
Much better to listen yourself. |

Ah, okay, thanks for the info. I'll start drawing longer lines on the map, I was using 16km as an absolute max.
