The 390th Heavy group flew out of a nearby airfield at RAF Framlingham, with their little friends flying out of Leiston. God bless the crews.

I gather that it took some nerves and dedication to crew those birds. Nary a safe place on any of them, if at all.

My late great grandmother helped build some of those bombers.
