Default No CP grid

Anyone know why there is no CP grid at the eastern end of the Med?
Even if the BDU never sent anyone there (because it was too close to the aircover of Alexandria and all the traffic had to pass through more westerly choke points anyway) , there are other pointless grids, EM for example, I mean whoever sent a u-boat to the Columbian jungle?

There are a variety of optional mods that come with GWX, including a Black Sea campaign, Axis Med Campaign, Indian Ocean Campaign, Merged Campaign, etc... I haven't tried them myself yet, but I always assumed that they would fill in those areas if you had them loaded. Perhaps this is the case.

Also, on September 9th, 1943 I remember them sending a radio message to their Monsun forces which gives the general patrol areas for specific boats.

The optional Mods will remove traffic from any area other then the mod name.
So if you activate the Indian Ocean mod?
You'll only have traffic in the Indian Ocean.

All Grids are controlled by the SH3.exe file.
We can not change that.
(Well we can but it's a pain and can't be posted here)

Thanks for the responses guys but I was thinking less of why it is not there in game (which I guessed to be historically acturate) but more
why didn't BdU assign that area as grid CP given the useless nature of areas they did assign grids to like EM and EN.

After reading Malta Convoys by Richard Woodman, I'm of the understanding that U-boats did occasionally operate that far East in the Med.

...but that doesn't explain SH3

U-boats regularly operated off Alexandria and further east....here is one example:
