Default My tale of Scapa Flow

Where to begin.

After reaching the PA, I decided to pay a visit to the Flow and see what was in there. So I do my standard way of sneaking into harbours at night and get pass the escorts at the south enterance. Once pass them, and at the end of the plot that I laid out. I used the TC to get some daylight. And to my surprise to find a Revenge class BB.

I line up my boat and carefully set the depth and speed of the eels. I am doing a long range shot of over 3000m. I launch them and as the torps neared the BB starts up. But its too late. All three torps hit around the third turrent and she starts to settle. I look to see if I got credit. Nope, no credit. But according to SH3 Commander I did get credit for sinking her. BTW, U-5 did not make it out of the Flow.

Sad to hear, condolences to the families of the crew from U-52.

I was sunk on my first patrol just trying to pass the flow. For some reason, when I damaged a freighter near Scapa, I surfaced to finish her off. I submereged when I saw an armed trawler, and after 3-4 hours, 4 destroyers and a battleship were pinging me. The trawler was still crusing along the surface like an annoying little fish. That bugger ratted me out and cost me my boat! (aka I know how you feel).

Deep six, at least you found ships when entered the harbour. Ive been there twice now, on my first and third patrol and found nothing. I entered and all the way there, there wasn't one destroyer or escort around i thought this is gonna be easy, i went striaght in as far as i could go, turned around then started to head out of the flow, next thing 5 escorts were detected! they must of spawned cos they weren't there when i was entering. took me hrs to get out cos i was running in silent speed and going at 4x they followed me all the way out.

I now have the VIIB and will be going back into scarpa on my next patrol.

went to scapa flow in singleplayer

got all they way in past 6 !!! DD's

found the BB sitting there with a DD toits rear got within 400mtr's let the BB have all four forward tubes itlisted to 1 side and carried on at 3 knots

so i laid low re-loaded again the DD was throwing DC's everywhere managed to avoid the mayhem attacked the BB from the Other side and it stopped dead but didn't blow up

did a 180 fired tube 5 nope it was still sitting there listing badly, so much so all the anti-aircraft guns were under water

re-loaded again gave it anutha tube 5 nope still there

now at this point i should have given up , but i didn't so i turned 180 fired the last of my Torpedo's at it so 14 in total and it still didn't blow up

throughly p***ed off i surfaced (yup stupid thing to do) on the oppsite side figuring the BB main guns can't get me with the intention of emptying my deck gun and you know what

the bloody BB sank me 1st salvo with her mainguns

it's too shallow to sink big ships is my thoughts oh an a few others that................nah better not

I got in to find nothing docked. On the way out a Flower Corvette came after me. I raced for the subnet went thru the opening and turned to 270. The corvette angled to try and cut me off and got hung up on the net. :rotfl: It just set there not moving. We said "Auf Wiedersehen" and left him there fuming I'm sure.
