SH-5 Install Keycode "used already"

Hi all

I'm having an issue re-installing my SH-5, hope you have the answer

After setting up a completely new rig I wanted to re-install my SH-5

When launching the program is downloading the patches - that's fine but...
Then install asks me for my "Install Keycode" so I enter the one I got with my retail CD and then...

I get the reply: "This CD-Key has been used already"
Even asks me buy a new one

Of course it's been used, I've played SH-5 since it was released and now when I have to do a re-install it seem like my hunting days are over... or?

Have you heard of this one before?

(BTW I'm running Win7 Home Premium 64 bit)

You don't need to enter any code, that's only for first time users. Just close the browser and launch the game. There, on the login window, enter your username and pass and hit Play. That's it.

That is useful info. So keep your user ID and Password written in your manual or at least on a sticky label on the box.

I would hate to forget that info!

Ahoy mates

First - thanks for your kind assistance

This is what I get when trying to install:

1. I do what I'm asked to - I enter my "Keycode"
2. I check it on the folder that came with the game, which is this one





3. Enter and click "OK"






4. And then I get this one:




I have asked Ubi 4 days ago but they seem to be real busy - haven't seen any reaction so far

How to solve this I simply don't know. I think I've tried everything.

A. Uninstall
B. Check for leftovers with Revo Uninstaller and delete SH-5 folder (even checked the register with Regedit)
C-1. Reinstall

And the I've even tried these ones (since I'm now running Win7 64 bit)

C-2. Reinstall with compatibility for Vista/Vista SP1/Vista SP2 or
C-3. Reinstall with compatibility for XP/XP SP1/XP SP2
For "C-2" & "C-3" also with or without "run as administrator"

Have I missed something, is there anything more to try?

Maybe my days of hunting them down really are over....

BTW, I always keep all my various codes safe in an Excel file stored on an external harddisk

call ubisoft costumer service I had the same problem and they fixed it in 5min

Seems like you fail to read the answers/solutions given already here. You don't need that key code anymore!
Close browser after install, start the game, enter your ID and password, play. Simple as that.

Thanks for you support but what you are describing is simply not possible.
After each and every reinstall (about 5-6 times up to now)
A funny thing is that during install I'm asked to register my game and when doing this I don't have to do anything
I reccon this means the game already is registered. Or?

After reinstall I've re-booted my rig - then I start the game.
The game starts updating, downloading the patch and still...
next I run into the dialog box #3 that you can see below in my previous reply

There is no option to do anything but entering the key code and then I get the dialog box #4 below.

I've contacted Ubi and the are on to it. Got a reply from support and I've on their request returned a pic of my manual with the keykode.

Being amember of this community is a benefit that keeps hope living on.

Long time since I did a reinstall, but I remember that the things are fairly simple. After install, the game will direct you to the Ubi website where are you required to register, enter keycode &stuff. You don't need that step, just close the browser, clear your desktop.

Hit the SH5 shorcut to start the game. The game will patch itself and will open that damn browser again to register. Close it again and use the desktop shortcut to start the game. On the login screen as far as I remember you have the option to register or login. It should be something like "Already registered? Enter your ID here" .. or something. Just read careful that panel and you should able to access the login screen where you need to enter your ID and pass.

Just don't rush it and don't panic. And most important, close the browser, you have nothing to do on Ubi website. Do all these in the game login screen, not in the browser!

When I got to the box #2 below I just hit the Log out and there it was -
just entered my details and now I'm back hunting them down.

Trying to reinstall this game after new reformat of hard drive..printed out these insttructions..followed them to the letter at least 5 times..close all browsers...never register "new" only enter fields in the SH5 intall shield and windows that pop up..game installs..downloads new data via patches..install shield updates from 1.0 to 1.2..gives..I reload game from sh5 shortcut on desktop..give me the area to put in my "already registered" info..name and password..and I cannot get past this..as it ALWAYS prompts me for a lengthy code..and always enter it correctly to which it says "already in use"...I can read..have done this 5 times..simply no way around..any help please..or must I call ubi soft tech support? this is really really a pain in the rear..and it should not be such a hassle to reinstall a game Ive already paid for..thanks much.

I reckon i have installed/reinstalled at least 10 times thru modding . After installing i put my login name and password and start playing . I never need any key code . I have the DVD .

As I remember this it's done in the browser window that opens up during installing. Or am I wrong?
