- or they could donate it to Subsim?

Five bucks is cheap for a IXC!

Thanks for posting the pictures of the IX C, what a great and detailed model!
It would be a shame not to have it in the game, it´s too beautiful to not being released to the SH IV community.

Please, Jimbuna and Kapitän Lehmann, give orders to get her sailing across the screens of many enthusiastic subsimmers!

Beste Grüsse, Kurfürst

...looks like the interest in the IX C for SH IV is very limited ?

P.S.: Privateer, does it have a Schnelltauchback ?

I looked at modding Ref's IXC.
But I never did it.
It is Ref's model, unreleased by him.
The files any of The Grey Wolves have of Ref's IXC
were test files.

Fantastic test files I must add!

I'll run another
'what does everyone think?'
with Jimbuna and the rest of The Wolves.

It's a Top Notch job by a Master.
It was intended for release at one time.
Since Ref has not been around for a year+?

It would make a nice reminder of his talents,
insights,
and inspirations
in so many areas in the past years.

Oh on the contrary, I think the interest is there, but public responses may not be forthcoming when you consider the past history of events around ATO and PTO modding.

I'll not respond to your PM in a likewise manner, please take note of my message below to Privateer and consider that my response.

I've reponded at The Lair mate.

As we both know KL is quite busy making arrangements for his forthcoming wedding so I'd ask you to give him seven (7) days from this post to respond before you act.

If he doesn't respond within the seven (7) day timeframe go ahead and release but include all the permissions and nameing criteria you originally suggested over at The Lair.

As we both know, Refs work is of the highest calibre and I honestly believe those that appreciate the fact should be entitled to benefit and enjoy it.

I'm now awaiting a phone call from Texas, a ball chewing or a rescinding of a wedding invite, or all three

Hi all,

What news?
Does it make sense to wait for new work in this topic?
Who knows?

I won't dig up the past, i'll just tell you guys how things are right now. The only "PTO modders" that your statement would apply to in this particular forum, would be myself, and Lurker.

Lurker quit. He's had enough, he never was much for words, but in private he announced he quit both modding and the forums. Both here, and at the kickinbak forums. No long good byes, not even a full paragraph of a post. Haven't seen hide nor hair of him since. I applaud his resolve. Usually if i say i quit, im back in 3 months or so. He follows through.

I..... no longer give a damn about mod politics, and the like. I'm past the point of giving a rats ass about all the BS that used to have I/we/us/everyone all fired up. I'm just too tired about it all to care anymore. Point being, while i did start a limited scope uboat mod (purely out of spite for that asstastic POS called SH5.) ... i don't have the energy to do anything more with it. The idea of doing another large mod.... all over again, sounds about as much fun to me as pulling my teeth out with a set of linemans pliers. I wish i never started it at all. So I'm not on the lookout for a type 9 model to use, or whatever else, if that was ever a concern.

In summary, you really have nothing to worry about. At least not from any of the pto modders. In my opinion, everyones about done, out of energy, or has moved on. Now, excuse me while i go back to general topics.

That's news. It's really too bad. I can see how quickly things could have become aggravating from his point of view. He did so much for this community just to hear nothing but complaints and people not following his strict guidelines. Considering how much he put into his mods, for the return he received, I can see why he quit.

However, looking at Kpt. Lehmann's post, I'm trying to consider if he's looking to restart a small portion of what was going to be GWX4. I'd love to offer any help I can, be it beta testing (I can keep a secret!) or what have you.

Don't forget about the other side of ATO modding, the surface warfare aspect, Ivank and I have that down.

Likewise....nothing in the field of modding is worth worrying about

Lets put it this way: will it be done before or after Storm of War?

The way Storm of War is going?
Before.

System problems stopped a massive amount of work.
They also caused a lot of work to be lost!
Now I can re-build that work and much more!
And WAY faster.

I've also got someone to assist on somethings now I believe.
So I can work on the 3D issues while he helps by looking at the UPC stuff.
I'm not a UPC guy and it would take awhile to get up to speed.

I also couldn't do tests. That issue is now solved.
I can FINALLY run SH4 in all it's Glory.
No lag or stutters.

Ref's IXC is only the start of things I have wanted to do from the very release of SH4.
