lets just say when you grow up in a school system and attend a high school that is about 52% black, and of those 52%... about 90% of them acted
just like that guy in the video... you learn quickly.
honestly, im sad to admit... but there were times in my school age life during which i felt like a camera man for animal planet... not being racist or mean... just being
dead serious.
it was like
Lord of the Flies - these people
literally behaved like
Animals most of the time
really don't know how else to put it
I can probably recall about a dozen times when students literally ran off campus en masse due to a series of fights which had grown into school wide rioting... it didnt matter who you were, or if you were in a gang or not... if you were in the wrong place at the wrong time it meant your ass.
it was like going to school in a prison, there was this acrid and choking tension everywhere in the air and all you wanted to do was get your ass to the relative safety of your algebra class... and even then there were no guarantees.
That was quite a culture shock for me coming out of a Catholic Middle School (Im Methodist) where the student population was about 85% White, 10% Black and 5% Hispanic... there were never problems of any kind. I can recall maybe one fight between two young men. Everyone more or less got along, everyone more or less had the same values and had a strong drive to succeed and was pretty level headed.
I dont attribute the lack of problems to the percentages of races in the school... because it didnt matter if you were black or white or hispanic. Everyone came to school and did their work and spoke fluent non-street english and didnt have some gang agenda to push on everyone.
I attribute it solely to the quality of the individuals who made up the student body.
there are winners in life and there are losers and im afraid thats all there is to it. and when someone wears their pants around their thighs and let their underwear hang out and wear gold necklaces larger than a car hub cap... well i think it is obvious what category they fit into.
its a sad reality here in the U.S. for some of those kids like that.
but if they are "street"... and they want to be off the street and drive a Porsche and have a high paying job and get out of the ghetto - they are the only people who can do it... they HAVE to do this themselves, nobody can take them out of that environment and do it for them.
