That's bad crack Jeff

If I was to refer to a collection of PM exchanges a month or two back would that shed any light on a way forward?

The system is burning up Video Ram.

From 256 meg, I now run on 144 meg.
And it's dropping.

It's not a matter of do I know enuff to fix things.
(I'm VERY good with computers)
It's hardware failure plain and simple.
Being a NoteBook?
I can not replace the Video Card.

Although I hate to do it?
I may try to sell my Mig Welder to buy a new system.
I've over $1500.00 dollars invested in it.
And it's barely used.
So if I can get 1/3 that or close?
I'll take it.
That would be enuff to finish some very important work!
Not only for SH5, but SH3 and SH4 projects as well.

The SH5 projects include the Exporter with base code for importing
to GR2 files,
Answers to why Units done in Dat format take no damages,
A way to createing new GR2 files.

SH3 and SH4 (and maybe related to SH5) major project is
to decode and create a Saved Game Editor.
So if your save Game crashes?
We could fix it.

Then there's all the help I've said I'd give to many other modders looking for ways to do things.
To not deliver those probably bothers me the most.

I need a day at the Flying Saucer.

have you tried a new battery / power supply?

it sounds too simple a fix but bad or failing batteries or faulty power supply can cause low voltage issues like overheating and burning out ram not to mention the PITA of damage if the battery is leaking

No Mate.
It's not a battery issue.
I swapped the Wife's Battery in and no change.
I also tested all power supplies and connections.
The original screen on this system died along time ago.
I use an external Monitor now.
It's just getting old.
From my first post here at SubSim till now?
This is the system I've used.
It's done great service to the SubSim Community in those years.
I've pushed it hard at times so I expected a death sooner or later.
Now is the later.
