The Generic Mode Enabler (JSGME) is a MUST.

Read the simple directions. Put it in the SH4 directory, then run it once. It creates a MODS folder, and any mods get thrown in there. You then run JSGME, and select what you want to run, and it saves the stock game stuff aside, and puts the mods in. Turn them off, and it sets the game good as new.
