From what little I know about the books the invaders are never clearly identified, however they presumably come from somewhere north of Australia. Who could the author mean?

We don't have shrimps over here but I'll stick a prawn in the pot for you so it's hot when you arrive.

You have to be careful and not let them grow too big or they try to mate with buildings:

I looked at a list of the cast and it seems the invaders are portrayed by actors with asian sounding surnames...

One is British

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1248393/

I can see a limited release in the US, as it did come part of school reading lists, might make it to the UK.

They should avoid NZ, it might give them ideas.......

Could you afford the fuel to reach Australia, let alone invade? If you try to invade, we will send Shane Warne to live in the UK

Lets see the RAF has around a couple of dozen aircraft, so I assume that even with their budget they sufficient fuel for each to make at least one flight over Europe... so the could load all their fuel on to one plane and fly to NZ. Say a C-130 with a Platoon of Paras- I think that is sufficient to conquer NZ...

A Tiger Moth with a shearer in the back seat would be enough, particularly now the earthquake has disrupted their communications.
