Default You know it's going to be a good day when...

...you're getting dressed for work, and you notice something kind of "crackly" in one pocket as you're putting on your pants, and when you reach in and pull it out, it's a ten dollar bill.

I wish my pants had a ten dollar bill in them.

$10 ≈ €10 = 30 beer

You're gonna have one very terrific day

Well, our local Oktoberfest is this weekend... but I don't know if I'll go, since everybody I'd normally go with is working all weekend.

Anyway, the beer lines there are WAY too long. It's so sad. Last year I had to make do with Jägerbombs. Altho I have to say, they are the perfect drink for when you want to get really drunk AND stay awake to enjoy it.

Maybe the tares put it in your pocket and it is actually a tracking mind control device to make you goto ufo landing pads in Giza for some obscure reason.

I'm still trying to imagine what it would be like to get 30 (decent) beers for $10.

True, but a real ten is always better than an imaginary fifty.

Reminds me of a favorite old Doctor Who episode. The TARDIS lands, and the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) steps out. He says something about some-doohickey-or-other being on the fritz, and he must remember to fix it. "I know! I'll tie a knot in my hanky!" He pulls the handkerchief out of his pocket, sees the knot that's already there, and says "Hmm. I wonder what that was for?"

So, on the one hand, TEN DOLLARS!

On the other hand, they say the memory is the first thing to go.

Oktoberfest in SW Ohio is a biiiiiiiig deal.

The one in downtown Cinci is reportedly the biggest in the US - at some point the mayor of Munich supposedly declared it the biggest one outside of Germany, but I don't know if that's still the case. Oktoberfest Zinzinnati will be getting underway in three weeks or so, which is closer to the "proper" date, but there are numerous smaller affairs scattered all over the area. Nobody wants to compete with downtown, or with too many other 'fests. So there's probably an Oktoberfest somewhere around here every week, starting with Labor Day weekend. I can think of at least 3-4 off the top of my head that are 20 minutes away or less.
