sobers base wave mechanics for SH5
This mod enhances the waves in SH5 to be
more realistic .
Installation instructions .
Enable your favorite environment mod first .
Then enable the sobers base wave mechanics for SH5 mod next .
sober recommends Sh5EnvModGold environment mod .
I have not checked to see if any other environment mods work with
the base mod .
I recommend installing while in port .

Will have a look later!

Been using some settings from "Improved Atlantic Waves" and "SHV Env. Mod" for a while and especially like the reflections of it.

Will report back. Thanks for the heads-up!

Out of curiosity I downloaded Sobers Wave Mechanics.

It alters a cfg for SH5 called Sea Parameters.
However SH4 has no such cfg.
But a little root around shows that the Sea Parameters appear to be in SH4's scene dat.
See pic

You could take the values from Sobers cfg and plug them into the SH4 scene dat if you so desired, to see what happens.
I don't have time to do it myself at the moment.

When I had SH5 installed, I ran an early version of Sobers wave mechanics, and it was very good. Very nice wave action.
I would be interested to see how Sobers numbers affect SH4's water.

With any env mod that effects fog or waves, I'd advise to test for effects on visual detection. On both the watch crew and the AI.

With S3D just right click Wave Properties and add an array item so you now have 5 Wave Propertries .

Yes, now one finally has.

First run with directly transferred values was like and it is no good at all !

But some reflections values are really good in SH IV.

So until SH5 is free, here's a couple of samples of what I'll have to live with:
