Hi Jim

You'll find the 4GB patch well worth the effort, especially if your going to use some of those heavy mods ! It was written specifically for 64 bit OS's.

Best regards.

Default Compatibility

Does Win7 have the compatibility mode like Vista?

I haven't got 7 yet, but have found this mode very useful in Vista with older games.

You right-click the application shortcut and choose the compatibility mode tab. You can then indicate which version of Windows the app needs to run.

Next time you load, it runs fine if that was the issue causing problems.

So despite the fact said OS is 64bit with 8GB RAM the game only recognises 3GB + 1GB for the OS out of the 8GB installed?

Yes you will still have to used the 4Gb patch with large mods installed
To make the game run smooth and not crash

Although Jim here is a strange thing that happened when I used GWX3.0
All was good until you looked through periscope to targeted a ship
And then as soon as you clicked to leave the periscope view it fired a torpedo
I think I had a mods soup going on

Default Okay

It's not neccesary to use this " 3-4GB patch " on win7 ultimate 64 ,
just install the game outside "ProgramFiles " example like I do :

" C:\ubisoft\silenthunterIII " .

And I DON'T RUN IT IN " COMPABILITY MODE " it's not useful , it seems if you run it in this comp.mode it blocking something , that silenthunterIII not working proberly Just install it outside the " ProgramFile " , and it sure work for me . I have 4GB ram on my pc and I have no trouble at all .

regards ,

John

I hope that was the case (for the obvious reason).

I noticed when reading the text from the patch d/l site it tells you to simply point the patch at the game .exe location.....does this mean there is no need to follow the instructions in Fubars thread?

But what mods had you enabled and were any of them the larger ones?
