The Tirpitz is indeed docked at Willy at the beginning of the war. I've passed her many a time on my way in and out.

But she'll be operational by the spring of 1942 when she's sent to Norway to serve as a potential threat against Allied shipping in the Arctic.
Of course, should know that as I'm currently reading "Arctic Convoys 1941-1945"

Actually I can't remember when she was sent out... trials/refits/etc were all finished in January, I think, so may have been late winter. But she was definitely up there by the spring of '42.

Here she is in Willy shortly after her launching in April 1939 (Life.com):

The war is only a few months away and as you can see, still lots of work left to be done!

De rien! Or gern geschehen, whichever you prefer.

I learn something new just about every day I'm in here.

Which would be, er, pretty much every day.

If you read the GWX manual you'll see why the Tirpitz has no main guns.

Hello, I have to confess that I did read the manual straight to the end, and I beg your pardon for that mistake
Just like you frau Kaleun, every time I come in here, I learn something new and that makes me think that SH3 is not only a game anymore.
Jim, for sure I'm impressed with GWX great work. and I have not enough thanks for all the people who have given their time to improve that wonderful game.
I must admit that I don't know too much about the 3.0 version as I installed it some days ago.
But the little I have already seen impressed me again.
I had hard time to resolve some conflicts between different mods, but yesterday evening, finally everything worked fine.
Now I'm ready for the long winter days (hopefully still a long way to go...)
and I promise you, I will read the entire GWX3.0 manual!

Good hunting to all of you

In GWX I really love how they completed the Graf Zepplin in game to its intended design. Shame it never got completed, though probably would've suffered like the Bismark. Seems that the surface fleet when operational inflicted severe damage enough to make them top priority no matter what size. Had it ever made it to Brest for repairs and come out with the other two battle cruisers the ensuing battle probably would've been a rematch of Jutland and the last of the major battleship fights of the war (only other one besides Bismark being Battle of the Coral Sea).
