Not to mention the fact that a kick that high attempted against a savvy opponent is a very good way to put one's own 'nads in jeopardy... a fact that some Tae Kwon Do would-be tough guys end up learning the way.

I don't recall ever being able to kick my own height....but I do recall using a 34" carbon baton to good effect

There are time when I miss my Akido classes. But then I don't bounce like I used to. Some fond memories.

I once had a guy at work do a spin-kick on me, just for fun. I just happened to be raising my right hand for some reason, and I just managed to catch his ankle with my armpit.

He looked pretty silly trying to keep is balance, what with the hopping on one foot and all.

And just imagine all the things you could have done from that point on, had he been a real attacker intent on hurting you. At the very least, he gets dumped on his butt.

I'm a kicker by nature, and flashy kicks are awesome... until somebody catches one, even by accident, or the one foot you're trying to balance on slips because the ground is uneven or sandy or gravelly.

Knees and groin are plenty good as targets and much easier to hit quickly and with maximum force. And if you're in fairly close they may never see it coming.

Breaking News: World's weirdest metaphorical tea-partier OP morphs into martial arts megabattle. Authorities say the incident may be drug-related. More at 11.

That video should be prosecuted for crimes against pasta, not to mention the cruel and unusual punishment of kebabs.

I think Bioware have been following this advice ,for the Han Solo smuggler type in the Starwars The Old Republic MMO ,there's a special move they can use - Boot the opponent in the Nads then shoot them in the head as their bent over.
Which of course gives you the best of both worlds - the flashy (Insert Fu of choice here) move and guns

Dangit! I just dropped my Indian costume off at the dry cleaners and I'm at least several hours' flight from the harbor! Could ya give us just a little advance warning in the future?
