Texturing as at submarines (not serviced by crew and service team) captured by americans - not good idea...

guess you´re mixing up some facts!  U-805 surrendered on the 12th of May to the USS Otter and USS Varian. U-805 was escorted by these two destroyers to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The boat surrendered while on patrol and in US waters, the pictures had been taken on May 18th. U-858 received the order to surrender on May 4th. U-858 met USS Carter and USS Muir on May 9th. On may 14th U-858 reached Cape May, the picture had been taken there. The boats had been serviced by their original German crews until they had been taken over by the Americans.
