Well, I'd ay that's cause for celebration. Pop the champagne cork. BTW, there's nothing that says completing an assignment has to be the first item on the list. I haven't done it often but, on at least a few occasions, I went out and sank alot of ships before even trying to complete my initial assignment.
The only other photo recon that I had a problem with, but eventually completed, was the recon for Osaka harbor. If I never get that assignment again, it won't be too soon.

Thanks for sharing. I didn't know you didn't have to complete all of the patrol objectives. I do have over 30k tonnage sunk so far. I sort of feel like you do about my photo mission to Koror. Think I'll just expend my new load of torps and then head for base.

You sink enough tonnage and they'll never complain about not completing an assignment. I've done that too. I've omitted completing an objective here and there, especially some of those loooong, drawn out, photo recons. If I sink enough stuff, I return to base and still have new renown added to the bank.
