This is an update involving my second attempt in the field of atmospheric research. There are way too many SS in this series for me to post them all so, I'll just include the funniest , ahem, excuse me , most relevant to my experiment.

Moment of impact:


The following pics are in sequential order. Yes, those are clouds in the background:






















This picture is after 2 consecutive bounces. The arrow denotes the re-entry vehicle in it's final stage of descent, heading over the mountain.


Though this was totally unexpected in my control group, it was a fortuitous coincidence nevertheless. The re-entry vehicle struck a Medium European Composite, pushing it out of the dock and subsequently sinking it.


In this photo, you have the last point of impact (or bounce, if you will) marked by the plume of smoke on the left, followed by the re-entry vehicle's final resting place approximately 1000yds away, marked by the plume of smoke on the right.


So, ends our experiment on Nippon De Plume.
