Why oh why do people not read the rules for this forum - or is that they just ignore them?

I think that 'I tried it at a friend's house' is fast becoming a euphemism.

If only I could get a hundred hours entertainment out of reading posts like that for free, but alas I can't - it's just a good job that it's not illegal.

Let's face it:

Fact 1: They wont remove anything.

Fact 2: New generation gamers will adapt to this lack of freedom (Only old generations react to such radical changes, but they will fade away with time)

Fact 3: If you don't pay for the game because they wont remove the DRM, they will lose customers and the game will be shut down, just like microsoft shut down microsoft flight simulator (Which have been going since early 80's)

Don't be too sure, they might just do it. They might shut it down. Where are we going to get a similar good submarine simulator if not ubisoft is making it.

The game is developed by ubisoft romania, europeans. God help us if the future of sub simulation falls into the hands of americans.

We should appreciate that there is a simulation in the first place. It was a hard enough blow for me that microsoft shut down fs series. I know how it feels like when it happens. It's unreal.

Let's not try to destroy this fine series because of the drm.

Is this A: grammar talk or B: national pride? If the answer is A, then my question to you is why you forgot to mention the same mistake i did with the word "europeans". ("The game is developed by ubisoft romania, europeans.")
If the answer is B, then here is my finger.

Secondly, you misread the entire post. The REASON we should appreciate that it is developed by europeans is because they will do the game historically correct.

Why americans will not do it historically correct? Because they dont want that. Just look up any american made history documentaries, it will be filled with false historical data and probably also the national anthem of the u.s.a in the beginning.

Probably? Probably? No sir, I demand it. Also, a large eagle and flag on the loading screen as The Stars and Stripes Forever plays in the background.

Well, there you have it. This is why I appreciate that it is being developed in romania.

You know what? The only proper response to that, would be vulgar vindictive that would get me banned again. Instead, i'll say it's patently obvious where you spend most of your time.

I know this thread has been turned into a bit of a joke thread, but I would hate to disappoint Krauter since he went through the trouble of putting the flame retardant suit on.

Anyway, first of all, I believe that insinuating that you are giving someone the finger is well below the standards of subsim.

And secondly, there is a good number of American modders right here who you just gravely insulted. I don't care what you think about our government(heck I don't trust our gov't very much myself), but you just said that all Americans are untrustworthy basically. So why don't you go ahead and stop using any mods made by an American, Contributed to by an American, or officially tested by an American. Oh.....Wait.....That would be almost all of them.

Ok, sitting down the flame thrower now.

Edit: Oh, this ain't the end of the conversation, me and Ducy are just getting started.

Since Aces Of The Deep and the original Silent Hunter, which are still regarded by many as the best submarine simulations ever, were both developed by American groups, I think you owe us a major apology.

Not to mention Sonalysts and Microsoft Fight Simulator as well. The USA is richly represented in the way of quality simulations.

Strategic Simulations, Inc., founded by Joel Billings, an American game designer, "was acquired by Mindscape in 1994, spent time as part of Mattel, and finally became part of Ubisoft (in March 2001), which has since retired the brand name."

For those not knowing where the Silent Hunter series came from. It wasn't Europe.
