Tramp steamers are another class of ship that suffers in poor weather conditions. I am currently stalking a convoy where a tramp steamer has dropped out of formation and is now lagging behind the main convoy. This happened in real life and u-boats often picked off these stragglers with ease. As for successfully attacking submerged in very rough (storm) sea conditions in real life, it most probably would be near on impossible. Even surfaced attacks would be very difficult.
