Was hoping for some Jethro Tull links when I read the title.

Kind of gives away my age...

mine too
Aqualung my friend --
don't start away uneasy
you poor old sod, you see, it's only me.
Do you still remember
December's foggy freeze --
when the ice that
clings on to your beard is
screaming agony.
And you snatch your rattling last breaths
with deep-sea-diver sounds,
and the flowers bloom like
madness in the spring.

could you think of a song fitting any better?

It was the reason I clicked on this thread as well.

POP QUIZ:

Name the only two songs to hit the Top 10 that were written in 5/4 time...

(and you had better be old to get both).

I'm guessing
Dave Brubeck’s Take Five (And later by Radiohead).
And the theme to Mission Impossible .

Impressive. I didn't think anyone would get Brubeck!

Of course you are wrong about Mission Impossible.

Next guess (and the thread title is a biiiiiiig clue).

Living In The Past, by the same artist that made Aqualung, was 5/4. Never made the US top 10 though (peaked at #11 in 1972), however reached #3 in the UK charts.

With this obvious international flavour in mind, Everything's Alright, from JCS, reached #7 here in 1992.
