@ SteelViking: Never forget mate, that it's difficult to express yourself in another language. In this specific case English.

Hartmann isn't a native English speaker/writer ... neither am I ... and sometimes it can cause misunderstanding.

Cheers!

Sailor Steve, you wouldn't happen to have six fingers on your right hand would you?

"To the death, then?"

"No, to the pain."

A good point, and one we all could do well to remember.

Thank you for the reminder.

Ah, I see. I am sorry if I offended anyone, especially if I misunderstood what you were actually saying. It's just that I get so tired of people only stating the negative things about SH5. I guess I should just stop reading the general SH5 forum, doom and gloom is all that is talked about here(though I absolutely cannot understand why other than the DRM), where as the modding forum is always upbeat.

Default Goodbye to SH5

Well as a newcomer to this forum and this game I must admit I am really enjoying SH5.
I played SH4 for a week when decided to get SH5, why, oddly enough realism. I wanted a game where I could walk around my boat. Plus reading on the forums revealed the extent of the work the modders had done for the game.
some of the issues that where mentioned have been fixed up now and the game is to me so far proving itself.
examples.
intelligent IA, Ships sinking realistically, got rid of the firework explosions, damage assessment to slow down damaged ships. graphics updates, realistic interiors and exteriors.
realistic sub stats, ie dive and crush depth, now with campaign lite more realistic tonnage (ie in two missions you won't sink as much tonnage as one of the top u boat aces for the entire war.
oh and weather as well.
TDW's ui mods also make it fun and easy to play as you can select an updated sh5 or a sh4 or 3 ui.
So running this game down without taking the time to play it with the current set of mods is just, well as we say here in aus lame.

Do you enjoy annoying people tonschk?

Just because you don't like Silent Hunter 3 doesn't mean it's rubbish. Have a look on the Silent Hunter 3 forums and see how many people (including myself) are still enjoying playing it.

And then grow up.........

We would all appreciate it if you actually tried to contribute to a conversation rather than just shouting out your opinion. On several occasions I or someone else has noted both good and bad about SH5, and said it's a "diamond in the rough" or something similar, and you have leaped on only the good and said something akin to "I agree! It's wonderful!" Cheerleading is nice, but it does no more good than blatant attempts to trash, which is what you just did here.

Since you said it, please explain, in detail, how SH3 is total rubbish. Remember, you're talking to someone who still thinks Aces Of The Deep is the premiere submarine simulator, the one others have to measure up to, and by your standards (which seem to assert that graphics make a great game above any other consideration) has to be the worst possible simulation simply because the graphics are so old.

Could you possibly try being a part of an actual discussion this time, and contributing something actually worth reading?

@ robbo: don't you think tonschk is just teasing here?

I suppose he's playing SH3 + GWX ... and even don't have SH5!

And as Steve said: "Could you possibly try being a part of an actual discussion this time, and contributing something actually worth reading?"

@
SteelViking: Please don't stop posting here about SH5, I need your positive attitude concerning Silent Hunter 5!

You need to learn to discuss things in a polite and respectful manner, like an adult.
^^ I don`t remember myself attacking anyone, can you give me an example or you just making things up.... again. While we at it you mentioned adults, well apparently if a moderator send me to the brig and then change account and make fun of it, its something little kids do in the cave . Anything else?

Erm no - I think he's trolling

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=173034

Still who would want to play SH3 and 4 when the graphics are so good on 5?
