When I saw the title I immediatly remembered my sailing days.
Now I have never served aboard a large ship like that but have been on quite a few offshore junkets on a sailboat. Offshore sailboat racing is noted as one of the most dangerous sports in the world. I have seen my fair share of 'accidents' fingers ripped off or mangled, teeth busted out, limbs fractured, eyes gouged... sigh those were the good old days ![]()

The up/down flexing I can understand, but that port/starboard flexing?
![]() I wonder how those containers stay on deck sometimes. Merchant marine sure earn their paychecks. ![]()

strong wind!
Personally, I like strong winds, the Court of occasions as I sailed the oceans,so surely it can be tough, but it belongs to the game rules.in many cases it's because the captain gives the orders to mine more risk at any difficulty, captain's orders are clearly crucial, and boat's size is not decisive.

only been in a couple of pansy storms we get out here on the baltic, once on a sailing yacht, that was fun. Another time on a ferry going to Stockholm, both me and my father were fine, but my mother, brother and sister were chumming the fish, apparently I inherited my dads sea legs. He was a senior liutenant in the soviet navy (not by choice) and after that a merchant seaman.

You generally find the bed and settee in the accomodation at 90 degrees to each other so you can still sleep whether the boat is pitching or rolling.
I thought the bed was far more comfortable so I'd use my life jacket to wedge myself in ![]() |
