Politically such a decision would be suicidal. The platform for Az is the rule of law. To then ignore the legal ruling just because the governor disagrees would be to take out the underpinnings of the entire system in the state. Not only would it be a disaster of epic proportions - it would also evaporate the substantial support across the country that the State has for the law.

They are going about this the right way. Impliment what you can, look at additional changes and fight it out at a higher level.

To "throw away the law" in an attempt to enforce law would create anarchy. What law can stand without a justice system - and you can't pick and choose what decisions you like - governor or not.
