It's been so long since I played a stock game that I'm not 100% sure about this.
But IIRC, the green lines are radar emissions from enemy radar. Are you surfaced or submerged when the green line appears? EDIT: Just had another thought. Does the green line appear on your Nav map, or your Attack map? If it's on the Attack map, then yes, it shows your projected torpedo solution. |

I usually just ignore the lines and just sink ships.. I am doing a IID career, so... uh....
Sinking ships sucks.
