I used to use Old Spice for a long time. Actually when I first started using it it was called Young Spice, but that's another story...

Anyway, The Frau did not like Old Spice so she started buying me all these "other" scents. Blach. I eventually found a scent that she likes and that I like too.... but I do wish I could go back to my old spice.

On that note, what is our resident Frau's take on Old Spice? I like the scent of it, (ODOR BLOCKING ACTION!) but that's just me.

My dad had a bottle of it FOR YEARS in his bathroom cabinet, but honestly I can't remember the last time I smelled any. I'm not sure he was even wearing it in his later years and he's been dead for over a decade, so, yeah, it's been a while. I'd have to go in a store and find a tester. But I bet I'd remember it once I did.

OTOH, have they changed the scent at all, or is it still the same as it always was?

Anyway - IME most scents smell different on people than they do in the bottle/jar/dispenser, and they smell different on different people too. So it's always hard to say whether I'd like something ON someone until that someone is actually wearing it. I can remember when CK's Obsession for men came out, I took a whiff of a tester in a store and it almost made me sick. Two months later my teenage nephew started wearing it, and on him it was like a completely different scent and I actually liked it - on him. Still couldn't stand it in the bottle.

There is 2 scents now: "Classic" and "Freshwater" (I think).

I am an "Old Spice" user but that is because the cans have ships on it and I like ships.

I had a friend some years back who told me not to wear Old Spice, because the young ladies would smell it and think "Old Man". I wore it anyway -- it's hard to keep down a family tradition.

I know quite a few women who say it inevitably reminds them of their dads or grandfathers because that's the only people they ever smelled it on when they were growing up.
