Default Gues which weapon is best against any ship!

Well actually it isnt a weapon,it's speacial forces! I was toying with Udaloy.Launched dozen of TASM and nothing (very good defence).Launched torps-evaded! Launched special forces for fun and they managed to boarded the boat and sabotage it! Udaloy blew up in to million pieces!

Note:Udaloy was making 9kts,rubber boat max speed is 10kts.

yep, it's a bug from sub command
was never removed.
But you can see easily the "cheat" on the replay

some guys in a dinghy, able to destroy a warship is just a bug, really not feature.

Why not?! Couple kilos of high explosive at the right place and the ship rests at the bottom of the sea. The question is... Can team of spec ops board destroyer? I think they can, under night or bad weather cover. On board any ship there is very little weapons and crew doesnt carry even pistols.

So I think this (definatly a) feature is great thing!

I think the next two "platforms" in the game will have to be special warfare soldiers and USMC guards! We'll have to have a firefight outside a CVN's magazines, and then try to get out before she blows sky high!

"...and when that door opens, man...nobody was ready for it. Panic, devastation, this was like shooting fish in a frickin' barrel....

They exited out the front door; they had no idea wha they were in for. Now they're staring at six men with guns drawn. It was [bleep]in' ambush...For a few seconds, this place was Armageddon!"

(Funny, I always thought it was people in glass houses that sunk ships, not little assault guys in rubber boats) :rotfl:

Kinda reminds me of nimitz class.....

Although those were Kilos and they were docked

I think the easiest way for a Sf team to destroy a ship would be from the keel with charges placed strategicaly alrough it might be difficult for them to kick out 10 kts

Spec Ops are trained to board stationary or slow moving ships. Not sure about destroying ships using explosives.Although nothing is impossible

can you really imagine 6 or 8 guys sizing up a DD ?
divingwind ...

not about merchant, but a warship ... it will be destroyed before he could approach.
Using it against a merchant ok.
But if it works against a warship, this mean AI warship should have a doctrine for that, or this could be consider as a cheat.

I seem to remember a program that used to screen reconstructions of Special Forces operation. In one of the eposodes they used some LAW missiles. U know the Anti Tank thinges. They swam in to range of a Frigate or Patrol boat docked. Looked big to me but was problebly a patrol boat. Once in range they fires the Anti Tank missiles at the boat and aimed just below the waterline. Think they fired 3 at it. I seem to remember thinking "would a AT missile penetrate the hull of a war ship. but thought yeh, maybe. They are armour piercing after all. Anyhow thats what they did and said the mission was sucesful. Cant remember whoes special forces or who they where attacking. Watched that many of the. In most episodes it was navy seals but it could have been any countries SF.

The question is aproach to the target, deal with lockouts with nigt vision devices, and the 50s. machine guns .

and against a moving warship ...

Only this could work with small ships like pt-boats or docked warships putting explosives underwater or inside, in the magazines. asuming that they can silence the ship sailors without noise.
