Default Learn Something New Every Day

Yesterday I had my first TeamSpeak experience, talking to Jimbuna for a couple of hours. That was great fun, but not what this post is about.

Jim recommended that I use the 'Ctrl Button To Talk', rather than Voice Activation. I was browsing the Subsim forums at the same time, and suddenly my screen started going crazy, changing size seemingly at random! It took me a minute or two to realize what was happening, but...

Did you know that holding down the Ctrl button while scrolling the mouse wheel lets you change the size of what you're reading? Makes it much easier to either see more at once or enlarge it so you can read it better.

Who knew?

thats a nice zoom feature for the older crowd there steve

When im playing first person shooters i use the thumb button on my mouse as the push to talk switch for team speak or voice chat.

very convenient and requires almost no effort or attention from the game.

Oh noes! You're going to try this on the Aussie pic I posted with the 750 naked chicks aren't you!? Well, at least I know I am!

EDIT: Just checked! Damn it! Much too distorted for any real sexual gratification!

When I was on TS I used the home or insert key to talk. That can be problematic outside of a game though

TS is an awesome bit of kit.

I use the ctrl key 'push to talk' thing too, Steve. But I only use TS in-game as it were.

Makes such a difference to have contact with your squad-mates. Hehe, anyone playing with clan tags almost definitely has the edge over the solo fps gamer for that very reason, unless you're logged in to the servers TS.

Used TS a lot when I used to play in MOHAA-SH tournaments (SH League and a few others over the years) and more recently to chat with some guys from my old clan gaming days with NER (new european regiment) and EBA (european brothers in arms) whilst playing on COD2 tactical realism servers.

I seem to remember Subsim had a TS channel at some point. Is that still going?

NOTE: in FF if you ctrl+mouse wheel to zoom your page out of whack, ctrl+0 resets it to normal.

I had no idea. Thanks, Steve. Now my text is finally back to normal size after months of being annoyingly large. I was clueless as to why it happened.

Tomorrow night I'll show you how to 'whisper'....(talk to others who are in the same section of TS with you but prevent them from hearing what you are saying to the sole recipient of your message).

21:00 GMT....I have a hunch Kratos may make his long awaited return.

Cool, but I'm not sure if that's 1500 or 1400 where I'm at. We're six hours apart, but I'm on Daylight time.

I knew it. To tell the truth i found it by sheer luck. After the installation of Win7 was done the desktop view showed up and i was surprised by the size of the shortcuts. A few days later i found out how they could be resized...
