Default Easy peasy MP switching with new LWAMI mod 2.01

A great new feature of this new mod is that you can now switch between the mod and the stock version
with one mouse click. It couldnt be easier now to match game versions with other multiplayers.
This is a very cool. :|\

Appologies to the Mods for a little over-enthusiasm on my part....................

Enthusiasm, yes.

The truth, also yes!

You now change versions from LWAMI Mod to Stock and back again with the simple click of a button!

I haven't installed your database yet so I don't know how it works, am I correct in assuming you can change the two databases from within the game or you have to decide before launching dw ?

The latter.

Sorry the 'one click' was the 'one that mattered'

I play DW, with the sound vs speed mod (official), now, as I understand I have to reinstall the game, update 1.01 (official) and then LWAMI mod.
When I want to play without the LWAMI mod, I also don't have the S vs Sp mod.
Am I correct?

When you run the backup .bat, whatever files are in your Database and Doctrine folders will be backedup to a new folder.

For example: before installing the mod on my machine, I restored my original database and doctrine folders, which I had copied when I first installed the game. These files contained both v1.01 and the soundvs.speed fix. I also wanted to have Bill's helodipping doctrine as a standard feature, so I included it with the "stock" doctrine files.

Then I unzipped the package into my DW directory.

I then ran the backup, which automatically creates seperate folders which preserve the Database and Doctrine set as they were at the moment you ran the backup .bat (it is your choice and responsibility what these files will be). Then when you run the "install" the mod files will be instated in your game. To go back to the files you backed up (presumably stock 1.01 plus soundvs. speed for MP with people who don't use the mod), run the "uninstall".

I hope this helps. PM me if you need further explanation.

1) Make sure stock v1.01 +soundvs.speed database files are in your Database folder. Make sure stock doctrine files are in your Doctrine folder.

2)Unzip the package into DW directory.

3)Run "backup" .bat

4) Run "install" .bat

YOUR DONE!

Mod is installed!

How, and where in Heaven's sake, do I find the doctrine files/folder?

In the Dangerous Waters directory, there will be a bunch of folders and files.

One of the folders will have the name "Database", this is where all of the database files are stored. Another folder is called "Doctrine" this is where the doctrine files are stored.

If you aren't comfortable manipulating individual files, then you should probably uninstall DW and reinstall, then apply the 1.01 patch and soundvs.speed hotfix, and only then install the mod.

I had assumed that many people were familar with the file structure of DW, which was a mistake on my part. I apologize for that.

I would describe it this way - when you unpack the mod to game folder - nothing is overwritten initially, you still have the same game you had, only some additional folders. Then when you run the "backup" script, your existing and current doctrine and database folders (whatever game version you use currently! it doesn't matter) are backed up in separate folders. Now you are safe, you can return to it in any moment (only not while in the game of course).

From this moment you can enable the mod by "install" script, or disable it with "uninstall" script". The uninstall will just revert your game to the state you had in the moment of backup. Doesn't matter if it was 1.01 or 1.01 with speed-noise fix or even some other mod - whatever. Just the version you had in the moment of backup is stored and you can return to it in any moment by using "uninstall mod" script. It takes about two seconds and you only should exit the game to do this :-).

No problem! We want to get it right!

We hope you enjoy, Fish.

Also, please let us know what you think!

Cheers,
David

PS I wouldn't necessarily agree that is "vague" per se, but I will freely admit that my English needs to lay off the human growth hormone.
