I hate the damn thing - always have , really have trouble reading it.

But if it's a necessary evil - then I'll just have to deal with it.

I have noticed recently that one or two posters will post two posts that are on topic and related to subsim, then the third will be a spam post, or they will carry on posting 'normally' but with a sig advertising fake handbags (or whatever). Now, the question is, are their posts copies of older posts, or are they human created new posts?

I'm finding the search feature to be incredibly difficult to use now. The catchawhatever images are virtually impossible for humans to read (I had to try 6 times to get one to accept it, meaning it was turning ME into a spammer) and the whole search process has now turned into more trouble than it's worth. This can only be a bad thing.

Neal,

I'm going to go along with the objections to string verification.

Suggestion: enlarge the image box. You get to keep the search verification, we get to keep our eyesight and personal dignity by getting the correct "code" on the first try.

Retrieve the search results from the database with AJAX. It's unlikely that bots have JavaScript interpreters implemented.
