Truth is stranger than fiction. We had confirmation that there's at least one large alligator in Lake Worth a while back. Another escaped "exotic pet", it would seem. My roommate works for a charity that cares for big cats, most of which come from homes where they were adopted as pets and were then abandoned because they became unmanageable. One would think that a person wealthy enough to afford such an animal would not be so stupid as to try to keep one as a pet. Apparently not

It was pit bulls, and the like.
Bulldogs also made the list.
No german shephards or dobermans though.

In almost all cases it's not the dog, but the owner that's at fault.
But these are the breeds that most atract those kinds of people.
And those kinds of people are the ones that deliberately make the dogs aggresive.
Very sad situation.

Oh!
Already living dogs are exempt. (smile)
The ban is on dogs born after a certain date in future.

Crocks or gators?
How do they differ?

A saltwater croc would probably have a largish 'gator without too much drama, but as they are from different continents it's never likely to happen unless some dumb bugger puts two of them into the same pen in a farm.

Alligators have broad rounder and shorter snouts. Croc snouts are narrower and more triangular.

Sizes vary depending on the species but the Saltwater crocs are the largest living crododilians with large speciments getting up to over 6m (~20ft) long and weighing over 1200kg (~2600lb).

Alligators tend to be smaller ~4m long and weighing around 360kg but the largest recorded specimen was measured at 5.84m (19ft 2in) Seeing two specimens of that size going at it would be interesting but I'd put my money on the croc.

I recommend you don;t visit Darwin. We feed the crocs there in a unique way. Funny not too many tourists make it out.

Bah you guys should be more afraid of this

The terrible man eating Crocostimpy

A terrible, fearsome creature that inhabits the Galapagos Islands. Discovered by nature show hosts Ren and Stimpy, the creature is known for its large blue nose, small brain, and its distinctive call of "Happy, Happy. Joy, Joy".

You mean to tell us that you are unable to open up a wikipedia page on crocodiles and a page on alligators and read it; or use the Googles and type "difference between crocodile and alligator"?

Dude, use the Internets Tubes. They are there for you. There are some questions in life where it is better that you find out the answer on your own.
