Jesper my printer is an EPSON R300 and when I had it plugged in the other night I got a message saying I'd get better performance if it was plugged into a USB 2.0 port.
As you can see from the Spec here http://www.epson.co.uk/products/inkj...Photo_R300.htm It has a USB 2.0 port and a USB 1.1 port at the front for plugging cameras etc straight into it.
