Thanks for all the nice comments. I will try help anyone with issues. Also there is no smokers hack And there will be no smoking onboard any of these subs.

If you want a customized version, where all I need to do is overlay one more sound file into the mix somewhere..

In response to running silent comments.. I dont know if the game can choose a different "ambiance" file when running silent, but if it does, and someone points me to it, I'll get right on it.

Some Ideas

say... when you go silent you automatically slow to 1/3rd speed and therefor the outside sound of the boat gets lower right? is there a way to link a quiet ambiance to the 1/3rd ahead speed normally generated at silent?
Or.... can you link said sound to being at battlestations state?
Prehaps just underwater?

Very very nice work, thanks !!

I just have a doubt on the very noisy scope up/down sound : could it be so noisy in real life ?

Default my observation

I liked the mod. I was not too keen on the captain repeatedly pouring a glsss of water or coffee, however.

I agree the water pouring and drinking is VERY announcing. Similar to the guy in the RFB sound mod who has the smokers cough all the time. Also why is there morse code tapping while submerged and at silent running?

The author did mention in the first post that this mod was not for die hard realism fans. Enjoy as is.

Not for die hard realism.. but drinking is better than coughing hacking.. also when I play the game, the sounds are sometimes bypassed when coming out of time compression so I dont notice it all the time.. but I am considering reducing the volumn of the drinking bit if I get a next revision started.

Im wondering if any of you have thought of any other sounds you could suggest that would be a positive addition?

My next project plan was to change most of the annoying sailor voices and replace with voice acting done with friends that I have from all over the world.. over teamspeak. One stock voice sounds way too much like peewee herman, he is going to be the first to be thrown overboard.

hahahah pewee has to go!
I'll think about some sounds for you as i play tonight. I always wanted to hear some people whispering and then the chief of the boat telling them to quiet down when you submerge but i also like the voices from FOTRS

Love the mod!

But, the pouring of coffee creates the need for me to run to the head more often than usual. Which upsets the dog. He feels I'm disrespecting his water bowl. The good news is that the wife has stopped nagging me to get a prostate exam.

Very immersive indeed!!!

Tried it with the "Tokyo Express" single mission and was trying to sneak away from some angry escorts at 530ft depth, 1kt silent. Suddenly someone of the crew drops some china onto a table or something scaring the whits outta me. ....coool!!! I like it!

Default How about.....

......the head being flushed, LOL.

Kidding aside I have no idea if that was a noisy thing or not or simply a hatch dumping the stuff out into the water.

Not really related to the sub itself but more ambient sounds at dockside (ie. ship horns, bell, bosun's whistle.)
