The missing anchor could have been a result of the boats being modified before setting of for war patrols, but I've heard stories about irregularities on the USS Barbarinna before, so who knows...

Conversations with fellow captains reveals that Captain Down's nickname among the fleet was "Hipshot". Whether this is relavent to the loss of Enterprise is still under investigation.

Sounds like the Captain is headed for Leavenworth, however i'm sure the Brass will spring him once the need arises. Good Captains are hard to come by but i'm sure his new XO will watch him closely and i doubt any other fish will be fired before they see the Rising Sun flapping in the breeze.

I can say that i honestly believe this incident to be an accident and knowing the character of Captain Down i am willing to testify at the investigation hearing on his behalf in hopes of securing his freedom and assist in any way possible to assure him another command.

Heh, i did change the message displayed when you sink a neutral or friendly target. I smriked when i pictured the XO saying, "Just who's side are we on sir?"

Locate and intercept USS Barb and escort to Midway with most hast.
Proceed with caution.""

The intercept was from the same Intel. outfit that broke the Jap code at Midway. Our ship is being set up as a renegade traitor, like the legend of the famous "Ghost Ship." However, some of our fleet are on radio silence and may not get the message from Intel. If any ships from our fleet bear down on the Barbarinna, we will take evasive action, and if compelled, take affirmative defense measures including firing to disable or destroy such vessels. In the meantime, we will stay on mission. Now, get some rest, as I expect we will see some action in the next few days."
