I think I win. In GWX, i found an IXB doing convoy escort in 1941. I sunk it, and of course it was Germany's vessel shooting at me first... It hit me twice before I realized what was going on.

The wolfpack mod from Sergbuto is capable for more than only single missions. In NYGM for example, sergbutos submerged type VIIA wolfpack U-Boats are scripted into some allied convoys in the RND layer. As soon as the convoy enters the render range, the U-Boats start to attack the convoy.

For my private GWX mod setup, I did the same and replaced most of the surfaced wolfpack U-Boats with the submerged ones from sergbuto.

Default Working...

I'm eager to both hear that it works in combat and to try it.

Thanks to h.sie for your link (signature) to the surbuto mod. I think I'll give that a go.

I have limited time to play, though. I'll be watching for reports here in the meanwhile.

sort of, They were not able to do that so they fire like a ships gun (above water) but other than it looking like a cruise missle it seems close enough

by the way: I made Sergbutos Wolfpack Mod V2 compatible to GWX3. See my mediafire page. Now it can be installed on top of GWX without file conflicts.

The only thing left to do is to replace the surfaced wolfpack uboats from GWX in the Campaign_RND.mis with the submerged VIIA uboats that come with Sergbutos Mod. not a hard job.

I've done that for my private use only and it seems to work so far. I've been asked via PM if I plan to publish it. my answer is no, because campaign files are property of GWX team and I've not asked for permission. other reasons: it's not intensively tested so far and I have no time to give support.

Don't expect 100% wolfpack action with contact messages and communication between uboats and so on. But you can expect to see a smaller convoy as it initially was, because some ships are missing and some are burning. and sometimes you see a fighting action at the horizon at night with starshells and so on.
