Default 34,000 jobs created in May !!!

Unfortunatly only 5% is in the private (tax paying) sector.

The other 95% were either for the IRS or census work.

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...d=ar_thYFiXUk4

Heh evidently the census has lost count of their workers as these numbers are evidently inflated.

So the counters have lost track of the counters

Obama cheers the 'progress'

Looking at the pure numbers is fallacy. The adjustments and methodology they use in calculating NFP is very suspect - (see a takedown of one such instance of NFP monkeybusiness - the "birth/death adjustment" here: http://www.ritholtz.com/blog/2009/06...nt-goosed-nfp/). It's fairly worthless to take those numbers as an accurate and true count.

What to look for is overall trends in the numbers and dig a bit deeper than the headline stuff is screaming. An increase in hours worked is a good sign - it tends to be a leading indicator of the economy, as businesses will work their employees more hours before choosing to incur the expense of hiring new ones. We saw an uptick there. temp worker hiring is also a good indicator for exactly the same reason - you'll hire a temp you don't have to pay benefits to before hiring a full timer. That was an increase also. Wages also increased as well.

Or if you're a partisan hack, you can ignore all of that.

Putting the numbers aside its pretty simple.

The majority of jobs 'created' are in the goverment sector paid for with tax dollars.

The minority of jobs created are in the private sector whom pay the salarys of the afore mentione goverment sector jobs.

Now does that sound like a sustainable model?

It appears that the market has come to a similar conclusion.

But you know what? As one door slams in your face another door opens. I have experienced that twice. The next door was always better! It will be for her as well.

Exactly, you have to keep moving forward regardless.

Turns out most of those jobs were given to people not to run against Obama friends in primary races

As an aside, I need to rant about the #$@%$# census. They spend money to send me 2 warnings that the form is coming—then send no form. The census workers didn't manage to be at home when we were until the 3d try. I asked the guy, and he said some places didn't get forms on purpose. WTF.

Aside from that, the real rant—why do we need ANY census workers? The US Federal government already knows how many people there are. Ask the f**king IRS. Any household that doesn't fill out a tax form frankly doesn't matter. No, this doesn't disenfranchise the poor since the poor fill out income tax form and get "refunds" for taxes they never paid (otherwise known as "a handout"). Anyone too lazy to fill out a 1040EZ can't fill out a census form

Oh good I got the form, filled out the number of pepole and sent it in.

Maybe I will avoid some census worker knocking on my door. God forbid one shows up with one of those 'community survey' forms.. I may just roll it up and shove it up his secondary orifice.

"how many toilets" ... for gods sake.

Many republicans followed Bush to hell.

seems the Dems are making the same mistake with Obama.

Shame they learned nothing over the past decade

Lesson 1 of making money in the stock market: If you ever hear the phrase "Today, the market went up(down) because..." be very wary of taking advice from that person.

I had them twice at my door.. so far

Actually these were nice, polite people, with a crappy ass job.
I was informed that, if I don't want to give certain information (name and birth dates, as example) I can refuse to answer, but they also informed me, should I elect to not answer certain question they will show up again.. heh

They were actually so nice, that I felt compelled to offer them a soda ( both times the temperature was pretty high) or snack for the road.

Maybe I was just lucky, but both them where knowledgeable and well educated about what their job is, and what they are allowed to do. They did not press for information, nor did the grill me over a fire or had a goat lick my soles.
