The photos in a pm was meant as a joke. I very much doubted you would do it, since you wouldn't share such info in a public thread. If you feel good about having this incognito alter ego here, then go ahead and stay anonymous. I could care less.

Personally, I don't have a problem showing the forum users who I am, especially because I took part of one of the subsim meets, where everybody makes lots of photos. So what if future employeurs find out I or any of us have a submarine hobby? It has nothing to do with any criminal activity. At the most, it would be something to hide from a potential mr/mrs in the beginning, since it's a nerd thing.

Anyway, I don't wanna be "enemies" because of this. If you feel insulted because I asked you how you look and if you wanna share, then so be it. But it was meant as an invitation from my part. Not as an insult. How you deal with it from here, is your affair.

I compared you to one of our early members, Sharkstooth, or Sharkey for short. That related to the hardcore attitude. But you also share this in common. Generally speaking, we have to be. Not that I consider it an issue with the people I've interacted with here on a regular basis, but as with any large internet group most members don't interact with other members on a regular basis and many never do - so no one never gets to know them at all. But they still have access to whatever information is put out there.

To tell the truth it's more of a personal boundaries thing for me than anything "gender-related" - most of my bad experiences as a result of giving out personal info to people I met online have been with other women, not with men. And certainly nothing that endangered anyone's personal safety as far as I could tell, but enough lines were crossed that I learned where my boundaries are and how best to protect them.
