everything is on boxes but startet to draw the plan for the super structure....have to make my own.....
The hull i have might give me some probs..seems abit to flat for this huge raider... Sunday i have a m8 come over with the RC stuf he found at hes local recykle place including another tank (when the gearbox break people throw them out...he he he) But have to admit that the scale of MK II project with all bits n boobs might kill my deadline... Ill se if i can post a few piggys over the weekend atleast of the bits n boobs......<--- hmmmm lol... (¤)(¤). L.T |

I saw somewhere along time ago these guys were making model boats. Battle ships and the like.
The hulls were built out of soft woods, balsa and basswood for the most part. The rules of construction were pretty explicit. Anyhow inside the hulls they placed RC controls in a water tight box, electic motors, and fitted 'cannons' that shot BB's using compressed air. You were limited to the number of BB's the boat could carry but not the number of guns. So the idea was to shoot the other guys boat with the bb cannons and punch holes in the soft wood hulls. The construction paramaters ensured that the boat would sink if holed. There was a minium weight per class of boat which usually required the addittion of lead ballast. last one still floating won ![]() looks like they are still around http://www.modelwarshipcombat.com/ pictures and videos here http://www.modelwarshipcombat.com/pictures.shtml

ya i know that but it aint cheap. Im kinda making the poor mans version if you rule out the gadgets...In denmark you would need weapons permit for those CO2 guns or special permit to use them...(steel balls)
Im making YR MK II with the superstructure of balsawood reinforced with a skeleton of 0.5cm alu pipe. Again all but the wood found as second hand.. this is a junkyard RC raider and my goal is to keep it cheap.. I got planes and helo`s around here and RC can be werry expensive if you want it big. Im proving to my self that hobbys dont have to be scale top of the line fine stuf. I could make 6 fully fittet YR MK II`s for the prise of one Robbe U-49 with static dive...all included...and that one is just for you.... I dont want fancy stuf ![]() All RC people have there idea....i got fed up with scales and correctness, rules and the "club rankings" Last year i tryed the "Freedom" this year i will go ballistic with it...lol.... I have great respect for most of the RC dudes here, but it always ends up in what gear you use....i will show them that fun can be cheap... I actualy have a electronics engineer comming by who wants to help out and the local hobby shop think that im so nuts that they will donate all the broken RC stuf they have and parts thats gone out of production.... The girlfriends are werry close to killing me with all the junk im piling up here lmao.... L.T |
