Annoying destroyer acts like a sperm and wont get off my back!!!!

Hiya sailors,

Anyone got this I'm sure it drove you nuts to the point of shutting down:

I'm on my way to the AO, and my WO spots a taskforce 25 KM ahead. they are coming straight at me, I order periscope depth and total silence in hope of not being spotted. It works fine they take the bait and continue on their course without evidence of finding me, except one destroyer which is stuck behind me 15 ~ 25 KM and mimics my every move.. He detaches from the group and follows me to 50 KM. Every turn I make he mimics, and I decide I should cut him lose.. I turn around to give him one of my Down the Throat shots ® only to find him turning around too and going at my every exact bearing.. I stop and watch his movements, and hes like a dog trying to ward flees off his back..

He does NOT want to go away..


Help needed folks.. I burnt 15% of my fuel on this guy, I tried all sorts of speeds and maneuvers, but he just wont go away.

Is it a bug? any known solution to this trouble??

I used to have this problem pretty often. But, I don't think I have had it happen since I got an enemy ship AI mod. I use the U-boat killer mod from Nisgeis. Try that, and see if it stops.

Sorry to hear that you can't get the sperm off your back! Can't say I've ever had that problem.

It's a known bug.

the phantom destroyer!!!

Save and Reload fixes it.

Yes.... now that you mention it.... I havent seen this happen since installing Nisgeis' U-boat killer mod.

His mod is really awesome, Nisgeis knows his AI scripting. Nisgeis=

I was literally about to switch back to SHIII when I installed his mod. The next convoy I attacked, I barely made it away from alive. Only one engine working, aft batteries fried, electric motors badly damaged, etc. Can't beat that for a tense encounter.

I had the same problem with 3 destroyers. And I went towards the beach and they crashed.

So, if one destroyer is acting like a sperm, does that mean the other 60 million or so chasing after you just kinda gave up before they could get into position to depth charge you?

Maybe next time you'll choose a more appropriate title then? I was briefly wondering whether the 2009 in your nick meant your birth date for that reason...
