Welcome aboard!
![]() First make you have JSGME and your mod installed correctly. Which mod exactly is giving you trouble? From the sound of it you've probably run into one of those mods that's not JSGME compatible out of the box as it were, but instead has the JSGME mod buried under other folders. Make sure your mod is installed like this: Silent Hunter 5\MODS\MyModsName\data\... And not like this: Silent Hunter 5\MODS\MyModsDownloadFileName\MyModsName\data... |

Depends on the mod and what it does. Mods in Silent Hunter aren't usually different "game modes" like they are in other games, but instead change the UI or functions of the game to play differently.
Like you might have a mod that makes your torpedoes do more damage, or makes prettier sunsets, or one that adds more commands to your UI, or more realistic scopes, or one that makes the enemy destroyers far more dangerous, or one that simply makes the soup in your galley steam. Some mods are really obvious that they are active, while others are more subtle or work in the background so you can't easily see what they are doing. |

kylania -
thanks again for the help, ive fooled around with installing the MODs and think I got it figured out. my main problem right now is with the radio mods. I have dl'ed several, changed the ctg file so I can bring up the radio but when it goes to channels I dont hear anything. any ideas? as of right now I dont have any MODS installed other then Radio Paris. i tried a radio volume mod but that didnt seem to help either. also if there is an easier radio mod out there that will take away these headaches please let me know. really enjoying this game and the fact it seems so user friendly for building on it. im afraid my COD days are done ![]() |

Here's a video showing how to use one of the radio mods:
Basically the 'forward' and 'back' buttons scan for whatever station frequencies you have set. Which Radio Mod were you using exactly? I can take a look and make sure it'll work with SH5. |

I think I might know what the problem is. When you installed it did you edit the data\Sound\Radio\radio.ini file? The mod isn't truely JSGME compatible since it doesn't install that file for you. If you don't make those changes then there won't be anything to hear since the game won't know the files are there.
Here's from the mod's thread: Quote:
1. Unload your Radio Paris mod via JSGME 2. Copy Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\Sound\Radio\radio.ini file to Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\MODS\<name of your Radio Paris folder here>\data\Sound\Radio folder. 3. Edit the copied ini file to read as follows: Quote:

yup did all that already. was hoping there was some sort of volume problem that was known and being new I just didnt fix it yet. im starting to think its something to do with my speakers maybe? i can hear everything else fine, changed the gamaphone in the ctg file so using "shift-t" brings it up and i hear that song fine.

another question, should i be hearing the songs as well as the events from the radio? or just the events from the radio and the songs from the gamaphonme? cause i can put all the song lists in the gamaphone folder and hear them just fine. just no sounds out of the radio and like i said, it says Im on the correct frequency and all the radio ini and command ctg files have been changed
